Polytechnic enters the TOP-50 leading universities in the world ranking U-Multirank-2022

On June 21, on the official website “Multirank Universities compared. Your way” the results of the 9th annual ranking of world universities “U-Multirank – 2022 World University Rankings” were published, which included more than 1,900 higher education institutions from 97 countries of the world.

According to the results of this year’s ranking, the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” entered the TOP-50 of best universities of Ukraine and became the best university among Poltava higher education institutions for the third year in a row.

The university has six “A” grades in each of the sections, which proves convincing facts of modernization and renewal of the material and technical base, organization of the educational process and research activities of students and teachers, effective cooperation with stakeholders, dynamic changes in the development of the Polytechnic as a classical university of the European level.

Information about the higher education institution is analyzed in detail according to five criteria: quality of learning and teaching, research, knowledge transfer, international cooperation and regional cooperation. Poltava Polytechnic was recognized as the best in terms of teaching and learning.

In its ninth annual publication, U-Multirank also showcases how universities are addressing social inequalities in access to higher education and the enrollment of underrepresented student groups. There are significant gains, as well as significant disparities, in the recruitment of underrepresented students from non-academic family backgrounds (“first-generation students”). Universities that have taken high positions are recognized as open to students of all social and age groups, have inclusive spaces and provide quality educational services to all students without exception. In a global perspective, Ukrainian universities are the strongest in the “Teaching and Learning” dimension.

“When looking at the productivity of universities, good teaching quality and research results are of course crucial, but we cannot neglect the contribution of universities to social goals,” – commented Professor Frank Ziegele, head of the U-Multirank joint project. “This is why U-Multirank is the first to include in its data successes in expanding access to higher education for underrepresented groups.”

The ranking “U-Multirank – 2022 World University Rankings” determines the best universities in Europe and the world, is conducted under the auspices of the European Commission and uses practical tools for data analysis in all the main areas of educational institutions activity.

Unlike other annual academic rankings, U-Multirank demonstrates the performance of higher education institutions on many indicators and provides an effective system for checking the reliability of institutional data. The collected data is used to present the results of the universities’ activities on the U-Multirank portal, which allows one to get complete information about their advantages and development directions.

Previously, the Poltava Polytechnic was recognized as the best among the universities of the Poltava Region in the “TOP-200 Ukraine 2022” rating and continues to maintain its leading position among the Poltava higher education institutions in the rating of scientific activity.
