Scientists from Poltava Polytechnic conducted a tour for migrants who were forced to leave their homes due to the war and discovered Poltava on their way.
Lecturers of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law and the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy took migrants from different regions of Ukraine who suffered from Russian aggression on a tour of Poltava. The tour started from the historical, main building of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and continued with the landmarks of Poltava.
Curator of the People’s Museum of University History named after Nadiia Kocherha, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation Liudmyla Cherednyk conducted a thematic tour “Educational traditions of Poltava: history and present”. During the tour, guests learned about the history of our university, as well as the history of education in the city and prominent people associated with the university, who have contributed to Ukrainian along with world culture and science. A group of tourists also visited the Center for Contemporary Art. Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor Tetiana Zinenko acquainted them with the current exhibition of works by talented students as well as new projects.
“The idea arose from the desire to psychologically help people whose peaceful lives and destinies were destroyed by war. People lost their homes, were forced to leave their native places, but morally they are unbreakable. Poltava is becoming a new home for them. Their souls, scorched by war, strive for a peaceful life and believe in the swiftest victory possible. And when we offered a tour of Poltava, the group gathered quickly. This was a lovely day of positive emotions,” – commented Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economic, Management and Law, member of the Hospitality Industry Association of Ukraine, who conducted the tour of the historic city center, Nadiia Bakalo.
An interesting tour of our city ended with an exchange of impressions and gratitude for communication.
Recently, Poltava actors staged an interactive play for temporarily displaced families; the university organized a reception of specialists from social security bodies for IDPs.
Previously, students of Poltava Polytechnic presented a creative project in support of the defenders of Ukraine.
