Polytechnic scientists take part in the Information week EU-funded Erasmus+ Programme

Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support of the Educational Process Nataliia Maksiuta and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of the Poltava Polytechnic Anna Pavelieva learned about new educational opportunities for Ukrainian universities from the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine.

Polytechnic scientists take part in the Information week EU-funded Erasmus+ Programme

Scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support of the Educational Process Nataliia Maksiuta and guarantor of specialty 035 “Philology”, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Anna Pavelieva attended the events within the framework of the previously announced “Information week EU-funded Erasmus+ Programme: Calls and Opportunities 2021-2027 for Ukraine”, which was held by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.

The co-organizers of this large-scale international event, which took place in a mixed format, were the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Erasmus Student Network Ukraine.

Participation in Erasmus+ programmes provides a unique opportunity for scientists of leading higher education institutions to improve international project management skills, enhance their own leadership skills and management potential, open perspectives for the internationalization of higher education at the organizational and individual levels, update existing educational and professional programs, introduce modern teaching methods and education, develop cycles of educational disciplines in English and other foreign languages, improve the management of the educational institution in order to improve the quality of higher education and intensify cooperation with foreign partner universities.

During the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andrii Vitrenko emphasized the importance for the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of consolidating the joint achievements of Ukrainian educational organizations and supporting those who are already planning to participate in new contests of the Erasmus+ Programme at the national level.

The coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine, Svitlana Shytikova, noted the importance of partnership support and teamwork for the successful implementation of educational projects under this program and presented information on the opportunities offered by the EU Erasmus+ Programme for 2021-2027, in particular, she focused on the key aspects of higher, professional, technical and professional pre-higher education, adult and youth education. The speaker focused the attention of those present on the priority directions, requirements, key documents and various stages of partner search, work with the NEO website as well as Funding&tender opportunities portal, etc.

The abundant program of the event included a number of activities held over five days in online and offline formats:

Day 1 (December 20, 2021) – was held in an offline format, at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, for Erasmus+ institutional coordinators, employees responsible for international cooperation of higher education institutions and, first of all, for representatives of higher education institutions who have no experience of participating in the Erasmus+ Programme, have a limited number of projects located in remote regions as well as participants from relocated higher education institutions.

Day 2 (December 21, 2021) – the event “New opportunities of the EU Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027 in the field of education. Participation of organizations” was broadcast online on the Facebook page of NEO in Ukraine, at which representatives of the academic community from different countries of the world talked about international mobility and virtual exchanges in the field of higher education, building the potential of higher education, Erasmus Mundus, international mobility in the field of professional (vocational-technical) and professional education, centers of professional skills for professional (vocational-technical) and professional education institutions as well as other opportunities, the field of school education: cooperation projects, eTwinning, School Education Gateway, cooperation projects and alliances for innovation in the field of education, Jean Monnet projects, etc.

Day 3 (December 22, 2021) – upon pre-registration, group consultations were held regarding participation in the competitions of the EU Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027. Poltava Polytechnic scientists Nataliia Maksiuta and Anna Pavelieva learned about Mobility Projects, KA2, CBHE Projects, Jean Monnet Projects and Projects for VET.

Day 4 (December 23, 2021) – more than 60 scientists, Erasmus+ institutional coordinators and employees responsible for international cooperation of higher education institutions from various regions took part in the Information Day. The event consisted of two parts: an information session “New opportunities of the EU Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027 for Ukraine” and a training seminar “Building the potential of international cooperation departments of higher education institutions for participation in the EU Erasmus+ Programme”. Professional communication and constructive dialogue were moderated by the coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine (EU project) Svitlana Shytikova.

During the training seminar “Building the potential of international cooperation departments of higher education institutions for participation in the EU Erasmus+ Programme”, participants attended three trainings on the coordination of the successful projects’ preparation on the following topics:

  • Ivanna Atamanchuk (KA1) – “Successful Mobility Project”;
  • Svitlana Shytikova – “Successful project of virtual exchanges”;
  • Veronika Tkachenko, Zhanna Talanova (KA2) – “Successful project of cooperation”;
  • Petro Krainik “Jean Monnet’s Successful Project”.

At the end, the training participants joined the general Zoom conference to summarize all being said and communicate in the “question-answer” format.

Day 5 (December 24, 2021) was devoted to the issues of registration of international technical assistance projects as well as reporting and popularization of EU Erasmus+ Programme projects.

Recently, student Yehor Riabokin became a participant of the Erasmus+ programme and studied at the Bialystok University of Technology for one semester.

Previously, Poltava Polytechnic scientist studied the intricacies of diplomatic translation, future translators shared their experience of volunteering with participants of the Erasmus+ programme, philological scientists shared effective life hacks for teaching foreign languages in the context of a pandemic, and a teacher from the Faculty of Humanities presented her experience of cooperation with German universities.

It should be recalled that enrollment in Euroschools is still underway.
