At the meeting of the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy, the report and plans of activity were considered, as well as scientific and practical reports were heard. The National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" was represented at the meeting by the director of the Education and Production Center of Oil and Gas Petro Holub, and the results were reviewed at an extended meeting of the University Rectorate.

The President of the Academy – Director of the Scientific and Technical Company "DEPROIL LTD", Honorary Explorer of the subsoil of Ukraine, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Petrovskyi made a report on the prospects of oil and gas production and the results of the Academy’s work. Among the achievements are new researches performed by gravimetric method using high-precision equipment as well as modern software and hardware complex. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Oil and Gas Geology), twice UOGA Academician, Doctor of Geological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Drilling and Geology of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Oleksandr Lukin took an active part in the researches.

"There was a significant event in the oil and gas industry. As a result of research conducted by members of the Academy, geological exploration work was performed; geological and physical materials were analyzed and interpreted. Within the framework of the resource development program, it is necessary to perform a huge amount of geological exploration work. But as a result of this work, it is possible to significantly replenish the gas reserves of our state. To implement the program, the Academy, according to the new strategy, attracts experienced scientists and practitioners from organizations and enterprises, including our university as a leading scientific and educational institution with close ties to the oil and gas business, and Rector Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, who has great authority among oil and gas enterprises, has experience not only in educational activities, but also in working with oil and gas companies. Implementing the concept of Volodymyr Oleksandrovych – "Education-Science-Business-Power", we carry out a significant amount of work for leading oil and gas companies. These are laboratory works and unique geological researches under the leadership of Academician Oleksandr Lukin to substantiate the prospects for oil and gas production.

Now our university has one vice-president and four academicians of the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy! Congratulations to Volodymyr Oleksandrovych on the election as Vice President and I wish him fruitful work at the academy!" – commented Petro Holub.

The participants of the meeting unanimously supported the election of Candidate of Technical Sciences, Director of Poltava College of Oil and Gas of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Liubov Shumska as an academician of UOGA for high-quality preparation of specialists, professionalism, extensive organizational work during scientific and practical events, which solve many scientific issues and make it possible to increase oil and gas production. Also were supported the election of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas Ivan Zezekal, as well as Director of the Education and Production Center of Oil and Gas Peter Holub; and transfer from correspondent member to academician of the senior lecturer of the Department of Drilling and Geology of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas, Alla Volchenkova, who has significant practical experience and participated in the discovery of many oil and gas fields.

UOGA academicians, who are also two members of the Supervisory Board, are great friends and partners of the University – Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Candidate of Technical Sciences, General Director of LLC RTE "Burova Technika" Vitalii Vitryk and newly elected academician, Candidate of Technical Sciences, General Director of DTEK Oil&Gas Ihor Shchurov.

For the time being, the organization has 340 correspondent members and academicians. Structurally, the Academy is divided into 11 departments.

All-Ukrainian public organization "Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy" is one of the oldest professional associations in the oil and gas industry, which brings together leading scientists, teams of industry institutes, educational institutions, institutions and enterprises that develop a set of scientific and technical problems of the oil and gas industry. In its activities, UOGA is guided by the concept of priority development of the domestic oil and gas complex in order to maximize the country's self-sufficiency in oil and gas.

UOGA is working on a wide range of issues: theoretical and applied aspects of economic development of the oil and gas industry, the organization of production in market conditions; search for oil deposits in subsurface rock complexes and in non-structural traps; development of a new direction of geophysical methods of search and exploration of oil and gas deposits, based on the physico-geological basis of the interaction of acoustic, thermal and electric fields; automation of technological processes of oil and gas transport and creation of new control systems; scientific support of oil and gas exploration works in the Ukrainian sector of the Black and Azov Seas; restoration and commissioning of low-flow wells, mothballed or abandoned fields; increase oil recovery; development of mechanical engineering for the oil and gas complex. One of the important scientific achievements of the Academy is the fundamental 6-volume edition "Atlas of Oil and Gas Fields of Ukraine".
