Scientists of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy participated in an internship at Transylvanian University of Brasov

The researchers of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Anna Ageicheva, Iryna Denysovets, Yevheniia Khomenko and Oksana Vorobiova took part in an Erasmus+ internship at Transylvanian University of Brasov (Romania). The Polytechnic teachers gave lectures on linguistic and country studies and got acquainted with the most modern methods of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines at the partner university.

From May 12 to 18, 2024, the scientists of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" - Dean of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Iryna Denysovets, Head of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, Doctor of Philosophy Yevheniia Khomenko, and Head of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobiova successfully completed a week-long Erasmus+ internship at the Transylvanian University of Brasov (Romania).

It should be noted that the internship at a leading European university included two activities for the representatives of the scientific academic community from different countries of the world: teaching and training. Scientists of Poltava Polytechnic had a unique opportunity to present to their European colleagues the wide scientific, educational, innovative possibilities of a multidisciplinary classical university and to hold a number of educational and outreach events for the students of the partner university.

As part of the teaching part of the project, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Ageicheva and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobiova gave a series of lectures on linguistic and country studies for students majoring in Philology, American Studies, and Business Administration at the University of Transylvania Brasov. The lectures focused on a number of topical issues, including the Ukrainian worldview and culture, the influence of the nation's mentality on its language, and analyzed the common and distinctive features of the Ukrainian and English languages. During the interactive lectures, the discussions were extremely interesting and exciting, and students of the above-mentioned specialties and the coordinator of this part of the project, a lecturer at the Faculty of Philology, Ileana Sirețeanu, took an active part in them.

"During this working trip, I discovered Romania in a whole new way," Anna Ageicheva, Head of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of Poltava Polytechnic, shares her impressions, "It is an extremely picturesque country with friendly and open people, a developed economy and a high level of higher education. I would like to emphasize the importance of international relations and the need for cooperation to strengthen academic and cultural contacts in today's difficult conditions. Traditionally, our university pays a lot of attention to the study of foreign languages, because foreign language training is a priority of Poltava Polytechnic's innovation activity, so cooperation with the leading philology faculties of European universities is an extremely important part of the internationalization of higher education."

"We will definitely continue our cooperation with the Faculty of Philology of Transylvania University, because we have a lot in common - similar educational programs, approaches to teaching, and visions of the educational process," summarizes Head of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobiova.

The participants of the training part of the project, Head of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, PhD Yevheniia Khomenko and PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation of Poltava Polytechnic Iryna Denysovets, got acquainted with the peculiarities of organizing the educational process and the most modern methods of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines at Transylvania University.

The coordinator of this part of the project, Associate Professor Ramona Henrer, conducted master classes on teaching practical classes with elements of training in the discipline "Fundamentals of Psychotherapy" together with master's students majoring in Psychology. Through special exercises, the training participants were able to analyze and work on their emotional sphere using positive psychotherapy techniques.

During the meetings, the participants analyzed the feasibility of using psychotherapeutic techniques in working with students - future psychologists, as psycho-emotional stability is one of the basic competencies of a practical psychologist.

"We are sincerely grateful to the organizers of the project for the trainings, because the exchange of experience and the knowledge and skills gained will help us in our further work on implementing the best European educational practices for the students of Poltava Polytechnic," scientist Yevheniia Khomenko shared her pleasant emotions.

The academic staff of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" expresses their sincere gratitude for the comprehensive support and assistance of the university administration and personally Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

Despite the war and thanks to the diligent professional activity of International Cooperation Coordinator, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of Germanic Philology and Translation Department of Poltava Polytechnic Anna Pavelieva, various academic mobility programs for scientists and motivated students of Poltava Polytechnic are successfully implemented at this multidisciplinary classical university.

Recently, a scientist of the university became a speaker at the International TESOL24 Conference on Foreign Language Teaching, successfully completed an international internship at the leading American educational institutions, another scientist of Polytechnic took a training course on writing projects at Horizon Europe, and the Head of UN Women in Ukraine Sabine Fraser Günes gave an open lecture for the Polytechnic community.
