On August 12, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Zakharin visited the Poltava Polytechnic and took part in a meeting of the Rectorate of the university.

“Opening educational institutions in offline mode, preparing for the new academic year — everything is done so that students can study, meet, and get a quality education. And I want to note that the Poltava Polytechnic has already passed all verification, inspection, licensing, audit, control procedures. The university fully complies with all safety regulations and is ready to start the academic year offline,” – noted Serhii Zakharin.

In July, the Academic Council of the university considered the issue of the beginning of the new 2022-2023 academic year and approved changes to the schedule of the educational process. During the meeting of the Rectorate with the participation of the State Secretary, the rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko signed an order on the organization of the educational process in the first semester, which states the main provisions regarding the organization of the start of the new academic year in the face-to-face format and the start of studies for students of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th academic years on August 15.

“The start of the new academic year in offline mode is a fundamental position of the President of Ukraine, the Government, and the Ministry of Education and Science. It was decided that the process should be started offline in as many educational institutions as possible. This decision was made for a number of reasons. The first of them is the return of citizens from abroad. If education works, it is a sign of stability and it creates the right conditions for as many citizens as possible to return to the country. The second reason is the need to restore the national economy. If adult citizens go to work, then, of course, young people should be sent to educational institutions. The third reason is the quality of education, since the main purpose of higher education is the training of high-quality specialists who can make their own decisions and take responsibility for their actions,” – commented Serhii Zakharin.

Earlier, educators, regional management and people’s deputies identified the features of the new academic year in Poltava region, and the people’s deputies got acquainted with the process of preparing the university for the new academic year.
