“All of our students are extremely talented personalities, almost everyone write prose or poetry. Anna Boiko sings very well, writes poetry, songs and music for them, and, as the university stage have become too small for her, we decided to submit her work for the M. V. Hohol Award. It is crucial for a philologist to have the feel of the language, to be able to express one’s own thoughts; the words have to sound like music and find feedback in the hearts of others. Our students can do that,” the scientific advisor, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Anna Pavelieva commented.

Mykola Hohol is still an inspiring figure to modern people for creating literary and artistic masterpieces, and that’s how the poetry of one of the winners appeared.

“Who hasn’t re-read ‘The Night Before Christmas’ during the winter holidays? Who doesn’t enjoy looking at the wheat fields or the steppe driving past them in the twilight? Who is not mesmerized by the forest music at dawn? There is so much beautiful around us. The positive emotions are overwhelming. This is when I put my feelings onto paper. At the end, a few pieces of poetry were ready, and we decided to submit them to the competition,” the third-year Philology student Anna Boiko commented.

Congratulations to the winners! May they reach new creative achievements!
