Performed by the actors of the theater, the Ukrainian folk tale received a new modern interpretation. There were funny songs to modern melodies, energetic dances and acrobatic tricks of fairy-tale characters, as well as wise comments. Nowadays, the fairy tale has acquired a new meaning – it wittily condemns not only obsequiousness, but also the fear of something unknown, which seems to have great power.

“A fairy tale is the fresh wind that blows the flame of children’s thinking and speech. “Thanks to the fairy tale, children learn the world not only with their minds, but also with their hearts,” – wrote the famous Ukrainian teacher Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi. The fairy tale teaches to fight against human defects, to fight with fear in one's own soul, not to succumb to those who seek to rule over all. Such fairy-tale motives are extremely relevant in today’s conditions,” – commented scientist of the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation, Candidate of Philological Sciences Liudmyla Cherednyk.

The play “Mr. Kotskyi” was created by famous figures of theatrical and pop art. Director – Honored Artist of Ukraine Serhii Bryzhan. The artist of the production, unfortunately, passed away in March this year – Honored Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Bezulia. Composer – Honored Artist of Ukraine Ivan Pustovyi.

The children gladly accepted the tale, and the adults thanked the actors.

Recently, the Poltava Academic Symphony Orchestra led by People’s Artist of Ukraine Vitalii Skakun presented its charity performance, and artists of the Poltava Regional Philharmonic presented a concert “Good afternoon, we are from Ukraine”.

Earlier, Poltava actors staged an interactive play for temporarily displaced families.
