An international student COIL-project has been launched with the Poltava Polytechnic's partner – Vilniaus Kolegija | Higher Education Institution

Students from the “Management” and “Logistics” educational programs at Yurii Kondratyuk National University, Poltava Polytechnic, have officially joined the international COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project. This initiative brings together leading educational institutions from various countries, creating a unique multicultural environment for learning and cooperation.

An international student COIL-project has been launched with the Poltava Polytechnic's partner – Vilniaus Kolegija | Higher Education Institution

Students from the “Management” and “Logistics” educational programs joined the international COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project with the following Poltava Polytechnic partners:

  • Vilniaus Kolegija | Higher Education Institution (VIKO, Lithuania);
  • Mendel University in Brno (Czech Republic);
  • Universum International College (Kosovo);
  • Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK, Finland).

The main goal of the project is to identify and address shortcomings and enhance growth opportunities by applying knowledge and skills in innovation, project management, international trade, supply chain management, financial strategies, and data management.

Between September 8, 2025, and January 16, 2026, students will participate in joint lectures, interactive sessions, and intercultural meetings. The primary objective of the project is to develop key skills crucial for success in the 21st century: global and virtual teamwork, intercultural collaboration, and global learning. COIL fosters students' ability to communicate effectively and work in teams composed of representatives from different cultures, as well as deepens their understanding of global business processes and innovative approaches. The project leader is Dr Nikolaj Ambrusevič, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of International Business, and Director of the International Business Program.

Project Schedule (2025-2026)

  • September 1–5, 2025: Project kickoff; group formation; contact information exchange; determining the best communication method.
  • September 8, 2025 – January 9, 2026: Conducting research, answering questions, and exchanging information; developing proposals.
  • January 14–16, 2026: Summarising learning outcomes (written reports and reflections); submission to professors; project defence.

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” provides strong expert support for the project. Highly qualified lecturers will deliver lectures and advise students during the development of their own projects:

  • Alina Kudinova – Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Logistics, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor;
  • Viktoriia Kulyk – Professor of the Department of Management and Logistics, Doctor of Economics, Professor;
  • Alla Hlebova – Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Logistics, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor;

Their experience and knowledge will help students delve deeply into business cases and develop practical solutions.

This semester, the project focuses on a real business case of UAB "Maxima LT" – the largest retail chain in the Baltic region. International student teams will work on developing innovative solutions to improve the company's operations in four strategic areas:

  • Management;
  • Marketing;
  • Logistics;
  • E-commerce.
    The main goal of this collaboration is to identify and overcome existing inefficiencies and find growth opportunities, applying modern knowledge and skills in innovation, project management, international trade, logistics, and data-driven financial management.

It is expected that students will not only propose creative solutions for Maxima LT but also gain invaluable experience working in international teams, contributing to their professional and personal growth.
We wish the students an enjoyable and productive learning experience!
