Specialities of the department of Germanic Philology and Translation

The rapid development of the international relations of oil and gas as well as construction enterprises of Ukraine and Poltava region in particular requires highly qualified specialists, capable to provide two-way oral and written translation in various situations of production activity.

The development of oil and gas as well as construction industry is increasing in Poltava region. Businesses in these industries, located in the region, have a constant need of being provided with translation in foreign or national languages.

Poltava National Technical Yuri Kondratyuk University has all the necessary human and scientific potential as well as material and technical base to train technical translators, in particular for oil & gas and construction industries. The program, according to which philologists are prepared at PoltNTU, is more adapted to the needs of the region compared to other universities of the region, involving, in particular, the development of oil & gas and construction industries. It is this specificity that distinguishes PoltNTU in providing the stated educational service from other universities, which are already training philologists.

Bachelors and Masters of Philology participate in written and oral communication and provision of information in various fields of national economy, science, technology, education, culture by translating different texts of different genres from foreign languages into the state one and vice versa.

A linguist-translator can hold the following positions:
